About Light of the Mind
Light of the Mind is a one-of-a-kind film-based mental health experience, the first of its kind in Washington, DC. Presented by Koga Faith Foundation, a 508(c)(1)(a) nonprofit organization, this evening brings together community members, mental health advocates, government leaders, and changemakers for a night of film, truth, and healing.
Why This Event Exists
The Mental Health Crisis Is Real. The U.S. Surgeon General has declared youth mental health a national emergency. In Washington, DC, and in communities across the world, mental health conditions go unaddressed not because people don’t care, but because the tools, language, and safe spaces to address them are missing
Film changes that. Koga Faith Foundation launched its inaugural film-based mental health campaign in Lagos, Nigeria on September 6, 2025 — proving that this model works across cultures, communities, and continents. Now we are bringing it home to Washington, DC.
